Zabaikalsk is the largest border crossing point, it handles export and import cargo flows from Russia to China.

In August 2005 the holding company DVTG began the construction of cargo terminal with total area in 11,5 hectares.

• Terminal is located only in 2 km from the Russian–Chinese boundary and has entire necessary infrastructure – it is supplied with the railway tracks (Russian and Chinese tracks), electricity, and engineering communications. The construction of warehouse and office buildings at present is conducted. The terminal uses the advanced handling equipment of the Swedish and Finnish makers. Their work cannot be affected by the weather conditions which is definitely an advantage in adverse climatic conditions of Zabaikalsk.
• The terminal has the capacity of 50 000 TEU annually
• The terminal will allow consolidating the cargo by destination which gives an opportunity to form the routes – container trains.
