The 20th plenary meeting of "Coordinating Council on Transsiberian Transportation" was attended by Minister of Transport RF Igor Levitan, Ukraine Vice Prime Minister Boris Kolesnikov and invited members from more than 20 countries – Europe, Asia, CIS, Germany, Estonia, Norway, Switzerland, China, Korea, Japan, ect.
Igor Chikhlomin, the General Manager of “Contrans” Company took part in the meeting as well.
The questions of modernization of Trans-Korean line and its merging with Transsiberian line were discussed at the meeting. In Future it helps to create optimal transit corridor for transportation between South Korea and Europe. Apart from that, the participants discussed realization of the project “Transsib in 7 days”. It includes total set of technological measures of rapid transit containers delivery from Far-Eastern ports to western Russian borders, also it allows to rival with sea transportation schemes.
Participants discussed the tariff-setting problem. As a solution of the problem was offered the decision to cancel the State tariff regulation for transit railway containers transportation and provide its ultimate flexibility.
For simplification the system of customs clearance and increasing the transit cargo transportation volume the Ministry of Transport and Customs divisions will improve regulatory enactments in the sphere of customs clearance.
The issue of forming the normative legal documents to provide the unhampered transit cargo transportations on Transsibirian line was discussed at the CCTP meeting. During the meeting CCTP members confirmed the budget and took the decision to enter new companies into the list of Coordina¬ting Council on Transsiberian Transportation.
Decisions which were confirmed during the 20th plenary meeting of Coordina¬ting Council on Transsiberian Transportation will give a lift to further improvement of Transsiberian Transportation and will provide its commercial attraction to all market participants.
